"Dancing on the Ceiling" was written in 1930 by Richard Rodgers alongside Lorenz Hart for the lyrics. The song was initially written for the 1930 musical Ever Green and since this initial performance, the song has become a jazz standard from the Rodgers and Hart songbook.
