Frank Mane was the band leader to the band which Frank Sinatra recorded his first ever record with. He performed the song Our Love, based on the melody from Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet. Frank still has the record, and plays it on certain occasions, keeping it stored in a safe for the rest of the time. He has not released it due to the Sinatra family demanding all rights to the song and getting the majority of all profits. The recording took place on March 18, 1939 at the Harry Smith Studios, where his band were recording for the first time. They also played Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee.[1]

I am sure this is the same Frank Mane that was close friends of Joe Turi trombonist I was married to 1952 to 1957 and was a back-to-back joke teller that the musicians all teased when Frank Mane began telling another joke, "Frank, just tell the number and we can all laugh!" If indeed this is the same sax man Band leader, he lived in Bayonne New Jersey and finally married Mary ? about 1954 after years and years of engagement since they both had an elderly parent to care for. I am: Stella Bell, ex Ballet/Jazz Dancer at Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe in the Follies Bergere show where I met Joe Turi playing in the band for Frank Sinatra's appearance. I just appeared in a documentary about The Diamond Horseshoe, "Beneath the Paramount Hotel" filmed by Jesse David Harris.
