History[]
"Glad to Be Unhappy" was composed by Richard Rodgers, with lyrics by Lorenz Hart.[1] The song was introduced by Doris Carson and David Morris who performed the song for the 1936 musical On Your Toes.
Gina Malo and Eddie Pola performed the song in the London counterpart of On Your Toes. In addition, Kay Coulter and Joshua Shelley were those who performed the song in 1954 for the Broadway rendition of the musical.
